OSKALOOSA — Thursday was a 18-hole golf tournament that Washington won despite being without a girl. The win was with a 331 total, 170 going out and 161 coming in, to lap the field. Mt. Pleasant and Norwalk each had a 404 total.
Anna Nacos was sick and didn’t make the trip so the Demons had just five girls play
“I saw Alicia Goff and Kaylin Long in the rearview mirror when they heard Anna wasn’t going to play and the look on their faces. They knew one of their scores was going to count,” Washington coach Len Kull said. “They were quiet the rest of the way.”
Their scores were loud. Washington’s Kiki Bruner, Josie Tanner, Makenna Conrad and Long had the top four scores of the tournament and Goff was ninth.
Mt. Pleasant’s Elli Liechty was fifth with a round of 88.
Bruner shot 78, Tanner 83, Conrad 84, Long 85 and Goff 95.
