It was a career night for Mt. Pleasant?s Lauren Ralls and Shyla Hiler on Monday evening, when the Panther girls? soccer team faced off with Washington at East Lake Park.
Ralls netted six goals in the game, which is believed to be a school record, and Hiler added four in a 10-0 win.
The Demons had their best opportunity to score with 10 minutes left in the half. Jessie Buchholz shot past the Panther defenders and had a one-on-one with Panther keeper Elizabeth Heerdt. Heerdt got a hand on a high shot from Buchholz, which went just over the crossbar to keep the game at 5-0.
Ralls started the second half with a quick goal to make the game 6-0 on her sixth goal of the game. She netted the goal just 33 seconds into the half.
With the score at 9-0, Hiler earned a corner kick with just over 24 minutes left. Her corner kick deflected off of Hora and over the line, to end the game at 10-0.
The Demons fell to 0-7 on the year and 0-3 in the SEC. They will travel to Keokuk on Saturday, April 30, for a game starting at 10:30 a.m.
