Demon girls fall to Center Point
The Washington Demon girls basketball team fell to their first ranked team of the season Monday, Dec. 5, as they were bested by fifth-ranked Center Point Urbana 28-65.

The Washington Demon girls basketball team fell to their first ranked team of the season Monday, Dec. 5, as they were bested by fifth-ranked Center Point Urbana 28-65.
Scoring would be scarce for Washington as getting the first bucket in the game was Isabel Bailey. The only time Washington would have the lead was when Sarah Nacos would score a 3-pointer next in the first quarter.
Scoring would be limited in the rest of the game as the Stormin? Pointers would be up by a 21-point lead 7-28 after the end of the first quarter. Bailey would have a trey to start off scoring in the second quarter followed by Brooke Stout with a 2-pointer while Morgan Brinning would score the final four points of the half all from the charity stripe as CPU would have the lead 16-46 going into the half.
It would be all Center Point after the break as they took the lead by more than 35 points forcing a continuous clock rule. The only points scored in the third would come from Kinsey Duwa would get a bucket. The Demons who would go for a rally in the fourth quarter scoring 10 points.
Brooke Stout would score first in the final frame after a drive down the court for two. Nacos would have a successful shot from the top of the key for a 3-pointer followed by a bounce off the glass and the final 3 points would come from one successful bucket at the free throw line and from a 2-point shot made by Nacos to end the game.
The Demons are 1-3 as they get ready to play at Fairfield in conference action Friday.
