Demon girls golf wins again
Washington places first, Fairfield second and Mt. Pleasant’s Wibben takes second overall

The Washington, Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant girls golf teams continue to show out in the early season.
This time around the three teams competed at Keokuk’s Elks Fairview Golf Course.
Washington continues its win streak, placing first overall for the fourth straight time. The Demons finished the meet as the only team sub 200, tallying 195. Fairfield finished 10 strokes back with 205. The Panthers did not post a team score, due to only having two players.
Burlington, Keokuk, and Fort Madison also competed in the meet.
Mt. Pleasant’s lone senior Samantha Wibben had a great day on the course, putting together the second best score on the day, 42. Kylie Walderbach finished with a 53 for the Panthers.
For Washington, Makenna Conrad and Kaylin Long each finished the day with 45’s and a fourth-place finish. Alecia Goff ended the day with a 52. Maci Williams finished with a 53. Mallary Johnson had 54 and Haley Mitchell a 68.
Viola Welsh was the highest placer for Fairfield, tallying a 47. Macy Rayburn followed with a 50. Myah Twohill finished with 52. Sara Kretz golfed a 56 and Kate Pettit a 61.
All three will be in action again on Monday in Mt. Pleasant.
