Demon girls golf wins SEC title
Washington golf wins again in conference bout, Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant follow

BURLINGTON — The Washington girls golf team has done a lot of wining this season and on Monday night at Burlington’s Flint Hill Golf Course they did it once again.
In the final Southeast Conference meet of the season, the Demons were victorious with a team low score of 166. That was 23 strokes less than runner-up Keokuk.
Fairfield followed with a fourth-place finish after shooting a total of 193. Mt. Pleasant did not post a team score due to only having three golfers.
The Demons highest individual finisher on the day was Makenna Conrad. The senior was one stroke away from first, settling for second with a 39.
Burlington’s Lauren Briggs took the medalist honors with a 38.
Teammate Mallary Johnson one just one shot behind with a 40. Adalyn Long finished with a 43 in the meet.
Kaylin Long carded a 44, Maci Williams ended with a 46 and Haley Mitchell shot a 48.
For Fairfield, Viola Welsh shot a team best of 40. That was good enough to tie for third.
Myah Twohill posted a 47. Macy Rayburn and Sara Kretz both ended with 53. Kate Pettit totaled 54 and Maggie Rayburn had a 55.
For Mt. Pleasant, Kylie Walderbach led with a low of 54.
Ashlynn Beauchamp shot a 59, while Elaina Holtkamp finished with a 60 in the competition.
