FAIRFIELD — The Washington girls soccer team polished off the season sweep of rival Fairfield on Monday evening.
The Demons used a two-goal first half to build a lead, and added one in the second half to walk out with a 3-0 Southeast Conference road victory.
Washington’s two first half goals came from Ana Mata and Giselle Marcelino. Mata scored on a penalty kick, and Marcelino made it 2-0 before halftime.
Audrey Anderson put the Demons’ third goal on the board in the second half to close out the win.
It was Washington’s second conference win of the year. The Demons are now 3-7 overall and 2-5 in conference play. Fairfield fell to 0-10 overall with a 10-0 loss to Ottumwa one day later. The Trojans are 0-8 in league play.
