The Washington girls? team went to Eddyville-Blakesburg for its final meet of Drake Relays qualifying,
Its top event in terms of qualifying, the 4 x 100 meter relay, was unable to improve its standing on Thursday, as the team of Makenzie Marek, Makenna Rich, Morgan Kimball and Amber Salow ran a 53.84, good for second at the meet, but couldn?t eclipse their season-best time of 53.07, which has them at 99th out of 80 potential qualifiers, unofficially.
At the meet, the Demons had strong showings from the rest of its relays, with its distance medley team of Addison Gaal, Makenzie Knutson, Lexi Redlinger and Stephanie Gutierrez taking second, the sprint medley team of Rich, Kimball, Kayla Andrew and Salow taking second and the 4 x 400 team of Jessie Buchholz, Redlinger, Gaal and Kimball taking second.
Individual placewinners for the Demons were Emme Keith (first in the 1500, second in the 3000), Andrew (first in the 400), Brooke Stout (second in the 800), and Dylann Schluetter (second in the discus).
