Demon golf prevails in Washington Invitational
Washington takes the top spot, Mt. Pleasant finishes fourth

WASHINGTON — Washington grabbed yet another Southeast Conference regular season victory on Saturday in its home Washington Invitational.
The Demon boys won the meet handily, securing the top spot by 14 strokes, 321, over Clear Creek-Amana, 335. Pella Christian took third with a score of 346. Mt. Pleasant finished with a score of 350 for fourth. Williamsburg followed with 352, Oskaloosa had 353 and Columbus 555.
Roman Roth was the tournament winner for Washington, finishing with a 74 on the day. Teague Mayer took fourth with an 80. Isaac Vetter shot 82 in the meet. Luke Beenblossom had 85. Grant Sobaski ended with a 90 and John Prochaska a 99.
For Mt. Pleasant, Nick Matheney finished with the lowest score. Matheney shot 79 for a third-place finish. Reece Kempker golfed an 82 after 18 holes. Reece Coffman tallied a 93. Nate Dismang shot 96. Ben Meador had 118 and Grant Willham posted 149.
Robert Coil lead Columbus Junction with a final score of 98. Ryan Coil followed with a final of 133.
Washington’s Roman Roth finished with the lowest score after 18 holes in the Demons home Washington Invitational. Roth ended with a 74 for the top spot. (Andy Krutsinger/The Union)
