The Washington girls? and boys? track teams plan to be in action for senior night on Thursday afternoon, when eight different schools will make the trek to Case Field.
The Demons will be celebrating their seniors at the meet, which could run into problems with the weather.
Right now the National Weather Service is predicting an 80 percent chance of thunderstorms on Thursday in Washington, but predicts that the bulk of the storms should be out of the area by 1 p.m.
Should the meet not be able to run, it will be held on Friday.
With the Demons? Tuesday meet at Williamsburg postponed, the teams are eager to get back to competition.
?It hurt us a lot,? Washington boys? track head coach Steve Roth said. ?When you only have about 10 meets total and you?ve already missed two, it?s not good for the mental part of the game. Then when you get there, it?s cold and rainy; it?s discouraging. That?s the way it is in the spring anymore. When you get the opportunity, you better take it.?
The Demons will look to better their standings in Drake Relays qualifying, which closes on April 16.
Roth mentioned that he is looking for seniors Jacob Hennigan and Gage Redlinger to step up in the meet, and for his shuttle hurdle relay team to try to shave another second or two off its time.
Roth said that if the meet does get postponed, he may need extra volunteers to help run the meet on Friday, and for anyone interested to contact him at Stewart Elementary.
Field events will begin at 4 p.m. on either Thursday or Friday, with running events beginning at 4:30.
