Demon wrestlers dump Keokuk, Warsaw

KEOKUK — The Washington wrestling team put together a dominant performance on Thursday night when the Demons traveled to Keokuk for a pair of duals.

Not only did the Demons knock off the hosting Chiefs 78-6 in a Southeast Conference clash, but Washington took down Warsaw (Illinois), 66-13 in a border battle.

The Demons rolled past the Chiefs from the get-go. Washington began the meet with three-straight pins, as Jude Carter pinned his man at 144 pounds, Lane Schrock won by pinfall at 150 pounds, and Chase Griner made it three-in-a-row at 157.

Washington would also get a pinfall from Braylon Hamilton at 190 pounds, Rudy Wolve at 285 pounds, Max Anderson at 113 pounds, Nate Edmonds and 120 pounds and Aaron Boone at 132 pounds, making it a 10-pin day for the Demons.

The matchup with Warsaw went quite similarly, at least after an opening match loss at 150.

The Demons strung together five-straight wins, including pins from Mark Chenoweth at 165 pounds, Blaine Rees at 175 pounds, Hamilton at 190 pounds and Greyson Hartman at 215.

The Demons scooped up three more pins against Warsaw. Nate Edmonds won at 120 pounds, Boone won at 132, and Carter won at 144.
