OSKALOOSA — Washington got their second win in three games on Tuesday night, edging Oskaloosa 8-7 away from home.
The Demons held a 7-1 advantage after four innings, but the Indians battled back in the ensuing three innings.
Between the fifth and sixth innings, Oskaloosa gave Washington quite the scare. The Indian scored six runs between the two innings, which would have tied the game, but the Demons were able to get one in their half of the sixth to make the difference.
Kole Williams led Washington in the hit column with four hits and four RBIs. Avery Six, Ajay Six, Ethan Patterson, Lucas Kroll, Ethan Zieglowsky and Luke Beenblossom all had one hit. Avery and Ajay Six had two and one RBI each.
Zieglowsky threw from the hill for the Demons, pitching five innings, four hits, five runs (three earned), two walks, two hit batters and one strikeout. Isaac Vetter also saw two innings on the mound. Vetter allowed two hits, two runs and four strikeouts.
Washington move to 4-10 and will take on Burlington, 13-4, on Thursday.
