Demons dominate SEC boys meet
Roth leads Washington to conference title

MT. PLEASANT — The Washington boys golf team has finished atop every single Southeast Conference boys meet in the regular season, and on Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant Golf and Country Club, the Demons left no doubt.
Washington took five of the Top-6 spots at the 2024 SEC championship meet to retain its title as boys golf conference champions, shooting 288 on the day.
Defending SEC individual champion Roman Roth had quite the day, shooting a 67 to win the meet by four strokes. Roth shot a 32 on his first nine holes and a 35 on his second.
Roth was followed by teammate Rajan Roth, who shot a 71 for second place. Drew Conrad finished at 75 for third.
Luke Beenblossom and Carson Brown rounede out the Top five individual finishers. Beenblossom finished his day at 76, and Brown ended at 79 for fifth and sixth respectively.
Teague Mayer was the sixth Demon on the scoreboard. He finished with a 44, just a few strokes away from his teammates.
Fairfield took second in the team standings, shooting a 334, which beat hosting Mt. Pleasant by 16 strokes.
The Trojans were the only school besides Washington to get somebody into the Top 6. Archer Kreuter ended his tournament with an 82 to lead Fairfield. Teammate Landon Nodurft finished right behind Kreuter, shooting 82 as well.
Sam Weaton ended his tournament just one shot shy of that mark, finishing the day at 83. Luke Thornton shot 88, and both Drew Myers and Cason Miller finished at 91.
The Panthers shot 350 as a team, which was enough for third place. Leading Mt. Pleasant was the duo of Nate Dismang and Merrick Lamm, who both shot 86.
Reece Coffman finished the tournament with an 88. Alek Barton shot 92. Brody Engle ended at 94, a nd Sam Frary finished the day with a 103.
