ELDRIDGE — The second-ranked team in Class 3A proved to be too much for the Washington baseball team on Friday night.
No. 2 Assumption, the top-seeded team in Class 3A Substate 5 took out Washington 10-0 in six innings.
The Knights bothered the Demons from the start. Assumption senior Noah Mack hit a grand slam in the first inning, one of two Knight homers on the day.
Washington was able to just get four hits on the day. Ethan Patterson had two singles. Kole Williams and Lucas Kroll each had one.
