TIFFIN — The Washington baseball team traveled to play Clear Creek-Amana in non-conference action on Tuesday night. The Demons were defeated 13-2 in five innings.
Washington led the game at two different times. The Demons held a 1-0 lead after the top of the first, and a 2-1 advantage after the top of the second.
The Clippers, however, scored two runs in the bottom of the second, five in the third and five in the fourth, to go up 11 runs.
Washington’s offense couldn’t keep the game going in the fifth. The Demons needed two runs to stop the 10-run mercy rule.
Washington is now 4-22 heading into postseason play. Washington will play at Assumption (24-11) on Friday, at 5 p.m.
