Demons finish among best in district statistics

Washington football?s third-place finish in Class 3A, District 5 came with numerous highlights and strong performances throughout the season.
Those performances helped a number of Demons finish among the district leaders in multiple categories throughout the year.
Despite missing the final three games due to a torn ACL, junior Ryan Reighard finished second in the district with 1,025 rushing yards, behind only Fairfield?s Cameron Baumann, who had 1,041 yards on the ground.
Reighard also took fifth in the district in passing, tossing 10 touchdowns with 906 yards through the air.
Reighard?s top target throughout the season was Jaivonn Willis, who finished the season third in the district with 28 catches for 462 yards and a district-high eighttouchdowns, despite playing quarterback in the final three games of the season.
With heavier work in the final few games of the year, Demon junior Jack Redlinger put some strong performances on the ground, averaging 7 yards per carry for 592 yards and four touchdowns, taking seventh in the district.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Demons were led by senior Bryce Sinn, who finished tied for third in the district with 64 tackles.
Sinn?s success at the defensive end position put him near the top of the district with 16 tackles for a loss, while recording nine sacks this season. He also led the district with four fumble recoveries.
Junior linebacker Tanner Murphy finished in a tie for seventh in the district in tackles, notching 54 on the season. He also picked up eight tackles for a loss and five sacks.
The all-district and all-state teams are yet to be announced, but expect to see a number of these athletes on them.
