Demons go 2-4 at West Liberty
Washington sweeps Fort Madison twice in weekend tournament

WEST LIBERTY — The Washington volleyball team picked up a pair of wins at the West Liberty tournament on Saturday, and both were against a Southeast Conference foe.
The Demons defeated Fort Madison once in pool play and once in bracket play. Washington went 2-4 overall, with two two-set losses to Cedar Rapids Kennedy, and losses to Muscatine and the hosting West Liberty squad as well.
The Demons started the day out in pool play, going 1-2. The Demons won the first of their matches against the Bloodhounds, beating them 21-19 and 21-11.
Washington fell to Cedar Rapids Kennedy 21-11 and 21-13, and were defeated by West Liberty 21-9, 21-6.
In bracket play, Washington found itself matched back up with Fort Madison. Again, it was the Demons that came out on top, this time 25-22 and 25-18.
Cedar Rapids Kennedy defeated Washington in bracket play, beating the Demons 25-17 and 25-20.
Washington is now sitting at 6-15 overall. The Demons are 1-2 in Southeast Conference play ahead of a road game at Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday night.
