Demons make All-State soccer teams
Huertero is 3A honorable mention; trio named to Academic team
The Washington boys soccer team had four players named to the All-State and Academic All State soccer teams, which were released by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association.
The Demons went 11-4 overall this year and 6-1 in conference play, good enough to win the Southeast Conference championship.
Randy Huertero, who was the SEC Player of the Year this spring, was the only area athlete male or female to be named to one of the All-State lists. Huertero earned a spot on the Class 3A All-State list as an honorable mention.
The Demons had three players named to the Academic All-State team. Lane Schrock was named to the 2nd Team, and both Brayan Arreola and Emanuel Raymundo earned honorable mention nods.
