Demons, Mid-Prairie, WACO, IMS run

WILLIAMSBURG - Four area teams ran at the Raider Invite girls track meet Tuesday.

'We ran pretty well,” Washington coach Stefanie Haworth said. 'It was a cold and windy night, but the girls worked hard. It was nice to see some different school than the normal ones we see on a regular basis. Solon, Mt. Vernon and Williamsburg all looked extremely strong.”

Jenah Greiner was a meet champion for the Demons, winning the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 10.75 inches.

'She had a season best to win by 1/4 inch,” Haworth said. 'She also had a season best in the 100 to finish third (13.53).”

Isabel Bailey was sixth in the long jump at 14-8.

'We ran some of the girls a little lighter since we have our home meet on Thursday and wanted their legs a little fresher come Thursday,” Haworth said.

The 4x1 team of Olivia Marek, Bailey, Ashley Telleen and Greiner was fourth in 53.7.

Mid-Prairie's Marie Hostetler won two events - the 3000 in 10:14.76 and the 800 in 2:24.71. Maddie Edgington, Cassidy Rourke, Amber Swart and Evans were second in the sprint medley with a time of 1:56.94. Swart was second in the 200 in 27.29. Mitzi Evans was third in the 800 in 2:31.78. Tori Boyse was third in the discus at 112-7 and fifth in the shot with a put of 35-0.5. Kessa Jones was fourth in the 400 hurdles in 1:16.37. Rourke was fifth in the 200 in 28.66. The 4x1 team of Swart, Rourke, Edgington and Rylee Vercande was fifth in 53.71. Abbagail Evans was sixth in the 400 in 1:09.92.

Suzanna Yoder of Iowa Mennonite won the 400 in 1:05.16, was fourth in the 200 in 28.1 and was fourth in the 100 in 13.62. Leah Bontrager was fourth in the 400 with a time of 1:08.01.

WACO's Grace Conwell was fifth in the 400 hurdles in 1:17.65. WACO was fifth in the shuttle hurdle relay with a time of 1:19.56.
