WASHINGTON — As well as the Washington boys golf team has been playing, it would have been a stunner if the Demons didn’t win their home edition of the Southeast Conference’s regular season slate on Monday.
As expected, that didn’t happen. Washington prevailed again, beating conference foes for the fifth-straight time by scoring a 162 at Washington Golf and Country Club.
The Demons were led by Rajan Roth and Drew Conrad, who both shot under 40 to win medalist and co-medalist honors. Roth shot a 38, and Conrad finished at 39.
Roman Roth finished at 40 for the Demons. Isaac Vetter shot 45. Luke Beenblossom finished at 46, and Teague Mayer ended at 47.
Fairfield took second once again, shooting a 184. That mark was anchored by a 42 from Max Weaton, who finished fourth overall on the day.
Sam Weaton ended the day at 46. Dev Eisner and Austin Lisk shot 48 each. Nile Christensen finished at 50, and Archer Kreuter shot 57.
Mt. Pleasant shot a 209, which was four strokes behind Fort Madison, but seven ahead of Keokuk, putting the Panthers in fourth.
Nick Matheney led the way for the Panthers, shooting 46. Nate Dismang ended the day at 48. Reece Coffman shot 53.
Izaac Zihlman was Mt. Pleasant’s fourth scorer on the day, shooting 62. Ben Meador finished right behind him, with a 63, and Grant Willham ended at 66.
