Demons shutout by Bloodhounds
Washington baseball loses to Fort Madison and West Branch

WASHINGTON — Washington baseball had a tough ending to the week on Thursday and Friday.
The Demons fell to Fort Madison in an Southeast Conference clash, 14-0, on Thursday and then suffered defeat to West Branch in a walk-off 10-9.
In the matchup with Fort Madison, the Bloodhounds scored one run in each of the first two frames.
They scored four more in the third and three in the fifth to seal it.
Washington put a number of runners on the bases, but Fort Madison was very efficient on both sides of the ball.
The Demons tallied just three hits in the game, while the Bloodhounds notched 17.
Ethan Patterson, Caleb Zieglowsky and Noah Greiner each finished with one hit.
On the hill, Lucas Zahs and Chase Greiner gave up 14 runs (nine earned) on 17 hits and four walks.
Against West Branch, the Demons and Bears put up quite a fight.
Washington came up just short to West Branch after the Bears hit a walk off in the final inning of the game.
After the pair of losses, Washington moves to 3-9 on the season.
The Demons will look to get back on track Monday against Fairfield on the road.
