Demons split in softball, then lose to Regina
Highland romps to victory, Hillcrest loses

OSKALOOSA — Washington split a softball doubleheader with Oskaloosa Thursday, falling 10-7 and winning 17-5.
Nine Demons had hits with Emma Herr knocking in two runs with two hits, and Ella Greiner lashing out a single and a double in the loss.
Kellie Dallmeyer’s home run, and Washington’s six-run seventh capped the win. RyLee Fishback had two doubles and four RBI.
Regals roundup win
IOWA CITY — Washington (1-3) drew first blood Friday then gave up four runs in the bottom of the first inning. The teams remained scoreless except for an Iowa City Regina run in the sixth and the Regals won 5-1.
Ava Turner singled then Dallmeyer batted her in with one of her two hits. Cara Linnenkamp walked three, allowed an earned run and struck out two in six innings. Each team had three hits. The Demons had four errors.
Highland fells Lone Tree
RIVERSIDE — The Huskies refused to quit batting in the first inning Thursday against the visiting Lions, ringing up 12 runs in the first inning and five in the second for a 17-0 victory.
Abbi Stransky and Payton Brun each had two doubles and a single with three RBI apiece. Grace Batchellor pitched all three innings with three strikeouts for the win.
Ravens grounded
LONE TREE — The Lions recovered from the Highland loss to defend their field with a 12-0 win over Hillcrest Friday.
Evelyn Gerber and Esther Hughes provided the only Hillcrest hits.
