Demons take third place at Central Lee tourney
The Washington girls? golf team played its best 18 holes of the season on Saturday, taking third place at the Central Lee tournament at Green Acres Golf Club in Donnellson.
The Demons carded an 18-hole score of 405 to finish in third place. Burlington won the eight-team tournament with a 377, and Mt. Pleasant finished second with a 384.

The Washington girls? golf team played its best 18 holes of the season on Saturday, taking third place at the Central Lee tournament at Green Acres Golf Club in Donnellson.
The Demons carded an 18-hole score of 405 to finish in third place. Burlington won the eight-team tournament with a 377, and Mt. Pleasant finished second with a 384.
?I thought we played very well,? Washington head coach Leonard Kull said. ?We showed a lot of promise.?
Junior Megan Buitendorp shot a 91 to lead the Demons.
?Megan had a very nice round,? Kull said. ?She was right at bogey golf.?
Sophomore Sarah Waite added a 94, which was the best tournament score of her career. Freshman Deanna Peiffer had a 99, carding a 49 on the back nine.
?Deanna broke 50 for the first time, and she was very pleased,? Kull said.
Senior Megan Reuscher rounded out the scoring with a 121, and junior Keysha Dixon had a 127.
