FORT MADISON — Area girls track teams met up in Fort Madison on Monday night for the 2025 Timm Lamb Pen City Relays, and the Union coverage area had two winners.
Washington and Mt. Pleasant battled at the top of the Class A team race, with the Demons besting the Panthers by 25 points for the title. In Class B, Van Buren County scored 148 points to beat out Mediapolis by three.
Washington won three events on the day. Iris Dahl finished first in the 1500-meter run. Leighton Messinger took the 400-meter hurdles, and the Demon shuttle hurdle team crossed in first as well.
Mt. Pleasant’s Alex Scott and Kynlee White took first place in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash respectively. The Panthers’ 4X100 and 4X200 teams were also victorious.
Fairfield had one win on the day, taking first in the sprint medley.
In Class B, Van Buren County won four events. Kayley Snowgren took first in the 800. Rylee Phillips won the 3000. The 4X800 team crossed in first, and Lexie Wiley won the discus throw.
Cardinal’s Addison Adam picked up a first place finish in the 200-meter dash.
Winfield-Mount Union had two wins. Josie Nelson won the 100-meter hurdles, and Kynlee Buffington took first in the long jump.
