Demons win a pair of races at the Central College Indoor

The Washington girls? track and field team won a pair of events and had 10 top-10 finishes at Saturday?s Central College Indoor.

Washington?s 4x200 relay team of Macy Marek, Rachael Hall, Natalee Enfield and Stephanie Fishback won the event in 1:54.85. And, amazingly, the Demons? B team of Dema Giardino, Sammy Ellingson, Addison Gaal and Grace Redlinger took fifth place in the 4x200 relay in 1:57.03.

Ellingson, a three-time Drake Relays qualifier, cleared 5 feet to win the high jump competition. Teammate Lauren Kimball also cleared 5 feet and took second place. Senior Joni Erwin placed seventh in the shot put competition with a throw of 35 feet, 1 inch.

Sophomore Macy Marek took third place in the 55-meter dash in 7.46 seconds. Fishback also made the finals in the event, finishing 12

in 7.72 seconds.

Senior Mariah Reighard took fifth place in the 400-meter dash in 1:06.16, and senior Kaitlin Buchholz finished 10

^th

in the 55-meter hurdles in 9.34 seconds.

Washington?s 4x400 relay team of Redlinger, Ellingson, Hall and Fishback placed fifth in 4:34.84, and the Demons? 4x800 squad of Kimball, Reighard, Aubrey Zimmer and Buchholz finished 10

in 11:19.85.
