The 2022 high school soccer season has wound to an end, and that means the release of local All-Conference teams. At the end of last week, the Southeast Iowa Super Conference put out its 2022 list.
A pair of area players made first team. Danville-New London midfielder Dakota Dietsch made the squad, as did Hillcrest Academy defender Grant Bender.
Dietsch scored four goals for the Bears this season and dished out four assists, which was second on the team. He finished the year with 16 shots on goal, also second amongst the Danville-New London players.
Bender was a key defensive piece of a squad that gave up just over two goals per game. He also finished the year with four goals and three assists.
Hillcrest had three second-teams honors as well, as forward Diego Ramos, midfielder Jorge Canchola and goalkeeper Aiden Krabill all made the squad. Danville-New London’s Colin Pealer was also named to the second team.
Each squad received two honorable mentions. Hillcrest’s Seth Ours and Micah Gerber were chosen. Danville-New London’s Tala Whaley and Aiden Konig made it, and Marco Martinez and Javier Panchillo earned the honor for Columbus/Winfield-Mount Union.
