District Cross Country: Van Buren, Cardinal come up empty

Unity Daugherty led the Van Buren girls? team with a 33rd-place finish in 18:17. Jessica Saunders was 41st in 18:50 and Caitlyn Millard was 60th in (19:40).
In the boys? race, the Warriors scored 176 points to finish fifth in the team standings. Thomas Fitzsimmons paced Van Buren with a 19th-place finish (18:26). Seth Dickinson finished in a time of 18:54 to take 31st, while Nolan Lydolph was 39th (19:05) and Josh Wenke was 56th (19:51). Drew Nolting rounded out the team scoring (59th, 20:00).
Cardinal?s Lindsay Albert was the closest Comet to qualifying with an 18th-place finish (17:44). Sophomore Emily Miller turned in a 69th-place finish in 20:23. For the Cardinal boys, Cody Waddle finished in 20:48.
