Local volleyball players are still receiving accolades although the season is over and many have started playing a winter sport.

Fairfield seniors Danae Drish and Alison Godwin were named to the Class 4A SE district team.

Isabell Manning and Salena Sayre of Van Buren joined Cardinal's Maddie Cloke and Pekin's Haley Gamble on the Class 2A squad for the Southeast.

Warrior skipper Matt Zeitler was named district co-coach of the year as well in 2A SE.

Drish was also selected as an honorable mention for the Class 4A all-state team. Sayre was a third-team selection in Class 2A for the Warriors.
