Eighth-grade girls split games

The Washington eighth-grade girls basketball team played a pair of games at Fairfield Thursday.

The A team lost 37-15 to fall to 0-2.

Stats for the A team were: Kaylin Long with five points, five rebounds and one steal; Makenna Conrad - four points, one rebound, one steal; Anna Collett - two points, one rebound; Iris Petersen - two points, four rebounds, two steals; Gracey Simmering - two points; Kenializ Espinosa, Alecia Goff, Haley Mitchell - one rebound each; Alex Murphy - two rebounds, one steal; Bailey Rees - two rebounds, two steals; Grace Voss - three rebounds.

The B team won 20-9 to improve to 2-0.

Stats for the B team were Kenializ Espinosa with six points, two rebounds, two steals; Iris Petersen - four points, four rebounds, seven steals; Gracey Simmering - four points; Abby Blasingame - two points, six rebounds, one steal; Anna Collett - two points, three rebounds, six steals; Samantha Hunger - one point, five rebounds, one steal; Ruby Ponce - one point, two steals; Makayla Garrelts - two steals; Ava Wulf - one rebound.
