Eighth-grade girls wrap up hoops season
The season wrapped up for the Washington eighth-grade girls? basketball teams on Monday, with the Demons claiming a pair of victories.

The season wrapped up for the Washington eighth-grade girls? basketball teams on Monday, with the Demons claiming a pair of victories.
The Demons? A team picked up its fifth win of the year with a 38-29 victory over Keokuk, led by Halle Leyden?s 17 points and six steals.
Addison Six put up six points and a team-high seven rebounds for Washington in the game, while Kaitlyn Mitchell and Olivia Pacha each notched five points.
The A team finished the season with a 5-7 record.
In the B game, the Demons claimed a 23-17 victory, setting a record for most wins in a season.
The B team finished the campaign 11-1, with its lone loss coming by one point to Keokuk in the team?s first meeting this season.
The B team was led by Demeri Bell and Dawsen Schluetter, who each put up six points.
Schluetter led the team with four rebounds, while Ellie Bell added four points.
Demon head coach Angie Shrader noted that she was proud of the way all the girls improved on the year, and thought they played very well in the final weeks of the season.
