Eighth weekly rankings of the 2019-20 basketball season

The eighth weekly rankings of the 2019-20 basketball season were released Thursday by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.

Van Buren County remained at No. 7 in Class 2A where the top nine remained the same as last week. Fellow Southeast Iowa Super Conference member Mediapolis moved up from No. 12 to 11. River Valley Conference member Cascade was first and West Branch was sixth.

In 3A, RVC member West Liberty moved to No. 12 from 14. SEISC member West Burlington moved to No. 10 from 13.

Class 1A saw South Iowa Cedar League's Montezuma remain atop the rankings and fellow league member North Mahaska was fourth. SEISC member Burlington Notre Dame moved up three spots to 11th.
