Ellingson and Kimball named to academic all-state basketball team
Washington seniors Sammy Ellingson and Lauren Kimball were recently selected to the 2012-13 Iowa Girls? Coaches Association Academic All-State girls? basketball team.
?That?s the first time we?ve had two players make that team,? Washington head coach Phil Long said.

Washington seniors Sammy Ellingson and Lauren Kimball were recently selected to the 2012-13 Iowa Girls? Coaches Association Academic All-State girls? basketball team.
?That?s the first time we?ve had two players make that team,? Washington head coach Phil Long said.
Ellingson, Kimball and six of their teammates were also recently selected to the Southeast Conference All-Academic girls? basketball team. Seniors Beth Dillon, Natalee Enfield, Olivia Hartzler and Johannah Vittetoe were also selected to the team, along with juniors Stephanie Fishback and Grace Redlinger. Cheerleaders Lauren Carter, Mallory Van Winkle, Holly Vittetoe and Katlynn Wellington also received academic all-conference honors.
?Our kids do a great job in the classroom and on the basketball court,? Long said. ?I?m really proud of that. That?s really cool.?
