Errors bury Comets in Friday loss
ELDON ? The Cardinal baseball team was again the victim of its own mistakes on its way to falling to Eddyville-Blakesburg 12-8 on Friday.
The Comets, who at one point led 8-6, committed two of their four errors in the pivotal sixth inning and the Rockets scored six straight runs.

ELDON ? The Cardinal baseball team was again the victim of its own mistakes on its way to falling to Eddyville-Blakesburg 12-8 on Friday.
The Comets, who at one point led 8-6, committed two of their four errors in the pivotal sixth inning and the Rockets scored six straight runs.
Austin Deshler led from the plate, going 3 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Tanner Chance finished 3 for 4 with an RBI and run scored and Ty Short was 2 for 4 with an RBI and run. Dakota Showman knocked in one run and scored twice, while Logan Thorne had two RBI.
Chance started for Cardinal and allowed six earned runs in three innings, Showman took the loss in relief and Short pitched the final 1 2/3 innings allowing just one hit.
Cardinal (6-6, 4-2 SEISC south) hosts Central Lee today.
