FAIRFIELD — Fairfield boys and girls cross-country has a good opportunity to make some noise this season as the Trojans bring back much of their talent from a year ago.
The Trojans missed out on state a year ago just narrowly, but have the tangibles to make it this season.
Fairfield now senior’s Carley Seeley and Malena Bloomquist both missed out on state by a few spots. Seeley finished 18th and Bloomquist 20th last season.
Both will return this fall, along with the likes of Caroline Van Pelt and Paige Bisgard.
As for the Trojan boys, Dayton Mauck is the highest return from last season.
Mauck, a junior, took 31st in the state qualifying meet last year.
Returning alongside Mauck will be senior’s Nate Konczal and Ben Boatright and juniors Riley Perkins and Gabe Tejada. Sophomore Clae Cass also competed last season as well.
