SOLON — Solon sophomore Brett White went 4-for-4 with two doubles and a grand slam as the hosting Spartans knocked off the visiting Fairfield baseball team 15-0 on Wednesday night.
The Trojans struggled to keep White and the rest of the Solon lineup off the bases in a non-conference clash, which lasted just four innings.
White’s slam came during a six-run Solon third. It was one of two Spartan homers on the day.
Fairfield had just three hits in the loss. Tate Allen led the way, going 1-for-1 with a double and a walk.
Other Trojan hits came from Cason Miller and Brad Woodburn, both of which finished 1-for-2 with a single. Connor Lyons drew two walks.
Nate Konczal started on the mound and took the loss after giving up nine earned runs over two innings, while striking out two. Khai Klehm gave up six runs (five earned) in 1.2 frames of relief. He struck out one.
Fairfield fell to 9-10 with the loss.
