Fairfield baseball wins three to begin the week
Trojans double up on Keokuk, down Centerville

FAIRFIELD — Fairfield baseball has been playing some fantastic ball as of late, winning five straight.
On Monday, the Trojans kept up their stellar Southeast Conference play with a pair of wins over Keokuk, 8-6 and 13-4. On Tuesday, they continued the streak with a 10-3 victory over Centerville.
In game one against Keokuk, the Trojans took a one-run lead after the first inning, but Keokuk quickly took a lead of their own with a pair of runs in the second and third inning.
The Trojans scored one of their own in the third, but trailed 4-2 after three.
However, the Trojans went on to score five in the fourth, followed by two more Chiefs runs to make it 7-6.
The Trojans added one more insurance run in the fifth.
Aidan Kreuter led Fairfield with three hits and two RBIs in the win. Caden Allison had two hits and a pair of RBIs as well.
In game two, it was all Fairfield. The Trojans scored eight runs in the first three innings and never looked back.
After a scoreless fourth, the Trojans added five more between the fifth and seventh innings.
Aiden Westercamp had three hits and an RBI for the Trojans. Caden Allison finished with a team high four RBIs and Landon Nodurft knocked in three runs.
Against Centerville, the Trojans started red-hot once again. This time the Trojans scored a whopping nine runs through three innings and the Big Reds couldn’t keep up.
Fairfield added one more run in the fifth.
Dain Burkhart finished with three hits in the win. Aiden Westercamp led the team with three RBIs.
The Trojans will be back in action on Thursday to wrap their season series with Keokuk.
Fairfield now sits at 19-8 on the season.
