Fairfield bowling sweeps Burlington, Washington bowls in MP

The area’s bowling teams were in Southeast Conference action on Thursday night. Fairfield was hosting Burlington, while rivals Mt. Pleasant and Washington clashed.
The Trojans were the big winners on the day. Fairfield beat the Grayhounds 2,512-2,254 in boys’ bowling, and 2,122-1,849 on the girls’ side.
Henry Swan led the Fairfield boys with a 373. Blake Ballew ended up at 334. Dayson Workman bowled a 321. Corbin Starr finished at 317. Eli Aplara bowled a 314, and Aaron Carlson finished at 279.
Emma Cass was the leading Fairfield girl, bowling a 366. Autumn McBride finished out at 295. Emma Forrest bowled a 248. Savannah Garretson and Braezen Stutzman finished at 230 and 229 respectively, and Brooklyn Gridley shot a 169.
The Washington boys took second in a triangular at Mt. Pleasant. The Demons bowled a 2,809, which finished behind first-place Keokuk’s 2,929, while Mt. Pleasant took third, at 2,552.
The Panther girls shot a 2,302, which was behind Keokuk’s 2,738. The Demons do not have a girls team.
The top area boy was Washington’s Mitchell Zieglowsky, who bowled a 254. That gave him the overall individual win, just one pin ahead of Mt. Pleasant’s Xachary LeBlanc, hwo bowled a 253.
Washington’s Kaeden Zear was fifth overall, with a 223. Kelton Burke was seventh, with a 214, and Cooper Zahs took 10th, with a 199 to give Washington four in the Top-10.
Mt. Pleasant’s Ethan Payne and Mason Frueh took 11th and 13th, with a 197 and 179 respectively.
Washington’s Mason Pierce took 14th, at 178. Mt. Pleasant’s Rhys Nelson was 15th, with a 173. Mason Catenaccio finished at 165, and Mt. Pleasant’s Joseph Rheinschmidt ended at 161.
On the girls’ side, Mt. Pleasant’s Shyann Smith took third place, with a 358. Natalie Brush bowled a 333. Madelynn Millard and Annette Reynolds ended at 288. Savannah Smith bowled a 257, and Addison Butcher bowled at 222.
