Fairfield boys golf second in Albia
Trojans nearly take title, Blue Demons win by 4 strokes

ALBIA — The Fairfield boys golf team got to flex its muscle on Tuesday at the Albia Invitational, and although they didn’t win, the Trojans showed they were one of the top teams in the area.
Fairfield shot 337 on the day, just four strokes behind hosting Albia, but 15 better than Chariton for second place in the meet. Fairfield also beat out Davis County, Centerville, Moravia and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
Max Weaton shot an 81 to lead the Trojans. He finished just two shots back of Albia’s Landen Simpson for first place. Sam Weaton finished one stroke behind his brother, with an 82, to tie for third.
Archer Krueter and Austin Lisk each shot 87 for the Trojans, which put them in a tie for 10th. Nile Christensen and Landon Nodruft tied for 15th, with 88 apiece.
