FAIRFIELD — A three-game losing streak was snapped for the Fairfield boys soccer team on Thursday, as was a three-game scoreless drought.
The Trojan boys found some offense against rival Mt. Pleasant. Fairfield beat the Panthers 3-0, their second win in the rivalry this season.
The Trojans’ lead was just 1-0 at halftime. Fairfield ramped it up with two in the second half to put the game away.
The Trojans had 20 shots on goal to the Panthers’ none. Everett Elliason, Carter Stark and Carter Moore each scored a goal. Elliason’s three shots on goal led the team.
Fairfield moved to 3-7 overall and 3-6 in Southeast Conference play with the win. Mt. Pleasant is now 1-12 and 0-9.
The Trojans and Panthers will both be in action on Monday. Fairfield travels to Keokuk, while Mt. Pleasant hosts Fort Madison.
