Fairfield boys, Washington girls win WACO’s Ekstrand Relays

WAYLAND — WACO track and field held its annual Ekstrand Relays on Thursday night with teams from all around Southeast Iowa.

On the boys’ side, there was a 15 team field and 14 on the girls’ side. The Fairfield boys and Washington girls were both winners in invitational.

The Fairfield boys posted 238 points for the top position. Also in the boys’ competition, Washington finished third with 220 points, WACO fifth with 196 points, Winfield-Mt. Union ninth with 140, Hillcrest Academy 11th with 127 points, Highland 13th with 75 points and New London 14th with 62 points.

Washington’s 133 points led the girls. Hillcrest Academy followed in fifth with 90. WACO tied for seventh with 81 points. Fairfield finished 10th with 78 points. Highland ended in 12th with 57, Winfield-Mt. Union 13th with 45 and New London 14th with 5.
