Fort Madison goalie Joshua Thele stopped a Kendall Mickels penalty kick to preserve a 0-0 tie early in the first half, but that stop didn?t help for long.
Kyle Thomas put one on the scoreboard less than 30 seconds later and the Fairfield boys? soccer team cruised to a 4-1 win over the Bloodhounds Tuesday at Trojan Stadium.
The win is the second straight for Fairfield as it continues to climb back toward .500 with a record that now sits at 2-4.
Haven Tichy assisted Thomas? goal and did the same for Jacob Lantz less than a minute later. Lantz took the pass and ricocheted a shot off a Fort Madison defender to make the score 2-0.
The first-half floodgates stayed open as Mickels tallied a goal at the 27-minute mark thanks to an assist from Roan Bachar. Thomas added one more score after a nice pass from Lantz was redirected into the net to give the Trojans their biggest lead of the game at 4-0.
Fort Madison scored its lone goal on Fairfield keeper Aidan Bachar midway through the second half.
Next up for the Trojans is Thursday?s trip to Mount Pleasant where they hope to avenge a final-minute 1-0 loss to the Panthers from April 11.
JV team wins 3-1

Avy Marks, Adam Mueller and Luis Giron each scored a goal in the winning effort. Assists came from Darrin Dimmitt, Mueller and Giron.
