Fairfield cradles Mt. Pleasant
Trojans give up just four matches to Panthers in SEC clash

MT. PLEASANT — Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant wrestling did battle on the mat Thursday night in a Southeast Conference contest.
In what seems to always be a back and forth battle between the two teams ended with the Trojans topping the Panthers 53-18.
The Trojans gave up just four matches on the night.
Kicking things off on Thursday night, Sawyer Fulton of Mt. Pleasant took the forfeit at 106 to get the Panthers on the board with six points.
Fairfield answered back a match later as Cael McCabe pinned Landon Beckler in 48 seconds at 113.
At 120, Matthew Kensel took a forfeit for Fairfield to make it 12-6.
Charlie Bohnenkamp grabbed six points for Mt. Pleasant at 126 with the forfeit.
The Trojans took the next three matches as Zach Westercamp downed Ramzy Davis by major decision, 10-0, at 132. At 138, Elijah Simons defeated Jackson Newman, 12-3, and Cason Miller edged Bowen Davis by decision, 4-0, at 145.
Mt. Pleasant’s Gavin Kerr was a winner at 152 downing Aiden Westercamp in a tightly contest 8-6 final.
Fairfield’s Cam McClain (160) followed with a win over Jahmal Dodson by fall in 1:08.
Aiden Lyons of Fairfield took the 170 pound match over Christian Ossman-Falline in 39 seconds.
The Trojans picked up another victory from Dain Burkhart at 182 as he pinned the Panthers William Birdsell in 3:50.
At 195 and 220, Logan Johnson and Dre Smithburg each took forfeits for Fairfield.
In the final match of the night, Mt. Pleasant’s Franklin Tousigant defeated the Trojans Kegan Pilcher by decision, 3-1.
