Trojans pick up second Southeast Conference win with victory over Grayhounds

FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Trojan boys basketball team picked up not only its second victory of the season, but also its second Southeast Conference win of the year with a 67-46 win over Burlington on Friday night.
The Trojans put together a stellar performance in the SEC battle, never losing a quarter on the night.
Fairfield outscored Burlington 20-12 in the first quarter and only extended it from then on out.
In the second quarter, the Trojans edged the Grayhounds 16-12 to build a 36-24 lead at the half.
Each squad dropped in 16 a piece through the eight minute third period and the Trojans led by 12, 52-40, heading into the fourth.
Fairfield went on to dominate the fourth, outscoring the Grayhounds 15-6 to secure the win.
Riley Perkin finished with 17 points and six assists for Fairfield. Eli Zillman added 16 points and eight rebounds. Lucas Konczal finished with a double double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
With the win, Fairfield improves to 2-6 overall and 2-2 in the conference play.
