BURLINGTON — The Fairfield boys soccer team gave Burlington all it had on Monday night, but the Trojans failed to come away with a victory, succumbing to the Grayhounds 2-0.
Throughout the first half, it was anyone’s game as neither team could find the back of the net and at the half it was all knotted up at 0-0.
Following the deadlock in the first, Burlington took control in the second, catapulting to a two-goal lead and putting the game out of reach.
With the win, Burlington, 3-0, is now the only undefeated team left in the Southeast Conference.
Fairfield, 0-3, still is searching for its first win of the season and will get that chance against Washington on Thursday, April 14.
