Fairfield?s eighth-grade girls basketball team won both games Tuesday vs. Ottumwa.

The ?A? team easily beat the Bulldogs 27-13 to improve to 2-0 on the young season. Mackenzie Flattery led the Fairfield offense with seven points. Molly Ryan and Alli Deao added six and five, respectively, while Delaney Neil scored four points. Taylor Ferrel and Mikaela Amendt added two points each, and Sierra Vogt added one point.
The ?B? team also improved to 2-0 with a 15-10 win over Ottumwa. Lindsey Repp led all scorers with seven points. Brittany Hoskins, Courtney Gilmore, Natalie Jones and Shannon Hopwood scored two points apiece.
?The girls keep improving and that is what coach Warren and I like to see,? said head coach Derek Philips. ?They work hard and are getting better every day.?
