Fairfield football names eight to all-district

FAIRFIELD — Fairfield football competed in one of the toughest Class 3A districts this past season.

Class 3A District 5 featured the likes of Benton Community, Solon, Grinnell, South Tama County and this year’s 3A state champion Williamsburg.

The Trojans finished district play 1-4 with their lone win coming against South Tama. On the season, the Trojans ended 3-6.

With Williamsburg being the last team remaining and winning the state title and completing its season, the 3A district 5 all-district teams have been released.

The Trojans have eight total selections on this year’s list with Caden Allison, Sam Weaton and Cason Miller all on first team.

Bode Hoskins, Landon Nodurft and Luke Konczal are second-teams picks. Carter Moore and Dre Smithburg are both honorable mentions.
