Fairfield freshmen fall to Mustangs
The Davis County baseball team is the top-ranked team in Class 2A, and their freshman team looked every bit as good in a pair of wins over the Fairfield ninth-graders Wednesday.
The Trojans fell to the Mustangs 3-1 in game one before losing the nightcap 17-1.

The Davis County baseball team is the top-ranked team in Class 2A, and their freshman team looked every bit as good in a pair of wins over the Fairfield ninth-graders Wednesday.
The Trojans fell to the Mustangs 3-1 in game one before losing the nightcap 17-1.
In the first game, Narendra Martin went 1-2 with a double and run scored and Drew Stever was 1-2 with one RBI. Starter Alex Simpson allowed no earned runs and struck out five in four innings of work. Logan Fleeman pitched the final two innings.
Tristan Ledger recorded Fairfield?s only hit in the nightcap, and Cody Mathis scored after reaching base on a hit-by-pitch. Pitchers who logged innings were Nathan Davidson, Cody Craff and Alex Christensen.
Next up for the Fairfield freshmen is a home game against Washington Friday.
