FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield girls basketball team put on a clinic in its Friday night Southeast Conference game against Burlington, winning 52-11.
Fairfield was hot over the course of two quarters and Burlington never had a solution. The Trojans held the Grayhounds to five or under in each of the four quarters.
It all began in the first. The Trojans dropped 18 points on the Grayhounds, while not allowing them a single bucket. In the second, Fairfield nearly matched its first quarter performance, outscoring Burlington 18-4. At the half, Fairfield had amassed a 36-4 lead.
The Trojans cooled off in the second half, but it made no difference. Fairfield only scored 16 points, but held Burlington to just seven.
Danielle Breen was the only Trojan to hit double figures, finishing with 21 points. Mallory Lyon scored nine points, along with six rebounds. Delaney Breen ended with eight points and eight steals. Brynley Allison added six points. Maddie Jones chipped in five and Ashlyn Lisk three.
With the win, the Trojans move to 6-1 in the conference and 8-5 overall.
