Fairfield girls route Mt. Pleasant on the courts

FAIRFIELD — It was all Fairfield on Thursday night when the Trojans hosted Mt. Pleasant in a Southeast Conference girls tennis meet. The Trojans blanked the Panthers 9-0, sweeping them for the second time this season.
Fairfield swept through the singles matches. The Trojans even had two full sweeps, as No. 4 Lauren Kraemer beat Malena Yocum 6-0, 6-0, and No. 6 Sydney Wells defeated Morealia Elias by the same scores.
Top Trojan Tess Paton defeated Savana Walls 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 1 match. Nellie Higdon took down Maggie Fitzpatrick 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 2 match. Abby Schaefer beat Melanie Olivas 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 3 match, and Olivia Jones ran past Jenny Dykstra 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 5 match.
In doubles, Fairfield continued to roll. The No. 1 Trojan doubles team of Paton and Schaefer defeated Walls and Olivas 6-1, 6-2. The No. 2 squad of Higdon and Kraemer took out Fitpatrick and Elias 6-0, 6-0, and the No. 3 team of Jones and Wells defeated Yocum and Dykstra 6-1, 6-0.
