WILLIAMSBURG — The Fairfield girls soccer team had gone much of the season without a win.
Last week the Trojans changed all that with a pair of wins over Oskaloosa, 3-2, and Centerville, 5-0, to end the regular reason.
On Monday, the Trojans looked to keep that streak up with a win over Williamsburg in the opening round of the Class 1A Region 5 bracket
The Trojans gave it all they had, but came up just short against the Raiders, 2-0.
Fairfield got off just five shots in the opening playoff bout. Haleigh Strickland notched three shots in the loss, followed by Emmelia Miller with two.
In goal, Jaden Haynes finished with six saves.
With the loss, Fairfield bows out at 2-12 on the season.
