FAIRFIELD — Fairfield girls soccer took care of business in its first round 1A Region 3 bout with Central Lee on Monday night, a game that only saw one half of action due to weather.

Lexi Mast put the Trojans on the board, but Ellie Lake scored for the Hawks as well to keep the game even.
Fairfield kept the pressure on Central Lee, sending 20 shots at the Hawks in the game. Eight of those were on target.
Emma Metcalf tallied the Trojans second goal of the evening in the 24th minute.
From then on, Fairfield added two more with Metcalf notching her second just six minutes after her first. Mast secured an assist on the goal, one of two on the night.
Fairfield’s final goal came from senior Haleigh Strickland with just 1:45 remaining. She finished the night with one assist as well.
The Trojans did well to thwart the majority of the Hawks’ attacks. Central Lee finished with just nine shot, only one of which was on goal.
